Students requesting to go home for medical reasons should come to the clinic for a nursing assessment before calling a parent or guardian. Students going home will be released to a parent/guardian from the clinic.

Students who need special accommodations related to medical or surgical issues will need to bring a note from their physician to the clinic.

    Fever

Students who have had a fever are required to be fever-free without the use of fever reducing medication for 24 hours before returning to school.  CFISD defines a fever as a temperature of 100 degrees or more.

    Medication

Students who need medication during school hours, including over the counter medication, must have a parent/guardian bring the medication to the clinic in the original container and sign an authorization form. District policy states that students are not allowed to transport any medications to school. All medications will need to be picked up by the parent/guardian at the end of the school year, upon expiration of the medication, or upon the medication’s discontinuation.

    EMERGENCY MEDICATIONS

Students who need rescue inhalers, Epi-Pens, or other emergency medications are required to have an Emergency Action Plan form filled out by their physician and submitted to the nurse.  The forms may be found on the district website, or obtained from the clinic staff.

We are here to help your student stay healthy and to be as comfortable as possible while in school. Please don't hesitate to call the clinic if you need assistance.
