HOW WE GOT OUR NAME

Hancock was named in honor of T.S. Hancock, who served as a teacher, coach, and administrator in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD for 19 years. He was superintendent of schools from 1955 until 1967. It was during this time that the District emerged as a nationally recognized school system know for its efforts in development of "open concept" and other innovative educational practices.
