What Are Small Learning Communities?
Small learning communities can be defined as an environment in which a core group of teachers and other adults within the school knows the needs, interests, and aspirations of each student, closely monitors each student's progress, and provides the academic and other support each student needs to succeed.

What is the goal of reorganizing JVHS into small learning communities?
The primary goals of Jersey Village High School in reorganizing our school into small learning communities and to provide a more personalized learning environment which promotes healthy relationships among all members of the community. In this environment, we will continually strive to increase the academic achievement of all students and to narrow the achievement gap among student groups. Rigorous curriculum, relevant content and positive relationships among staff and students will all accelerate students' academic and behavioral achievements.

How are the JV Small Learning Communities ~ Houses ~ organized?
Each House will have:
~ 2 Assistant Principals
~ 2 Counselors
~ Approximately 27 teachers in the core subjectsStudents will remain in the same House with the same teachers, instructional leader, and counselor throughout high school.
