At the 94th Annual Texas FFA State Convention, held in July in Fort Worth, Jaure went through a rigorous process which included interviews, speeches and exercises. Each of the 12 Texas FFA area associations select one candidate to serve a one-year term on the state officer team. The delegates then elect a president and first vice president from the 12 candidates, with the remaining 10 officers serving as vice presidents from their respective area associations.

The 12-member officer team works in partnership with the Texas FFA board of directors to develop policy and provide students leadership to the organization’s members. In addition, Jaure will help plan the 2023 state convention and meet various stakeholders to advocate for agriculture, agricultural education and FFA.

Jaure and the officers have already been hard at work. The team started its tenure with a day of service at Fort Worth Herd, traveled to Washington D.C. to attend the State Officer Summit hosted by the National FFA Organization.
