Warner ES, Smith MS Destination Imagination teams place at Global Finals

Team The All-Stars from Smith Middle School placed second in the Engineering – Going the Distance challenge at the Destination Imagination Global Finals, held May 22-25 in Kansas City, Missouri. Team The All-Stars were one of eight CFISD teams that competed at this year’s global tournament.

June 25, 2024—Two teams from Warner Elementary School and Smith Middle School earned top three finishes at the Destination Imagination Global Finals, held May 22-25 in Kansas City, Missouri.  

Team The All-Stars from Smith placed second in Engineering – Going the Distance, while Team Stellar Squad from Warner placed third in Scientific – Blast from the Past.

Eight total teams comprised on CFISD students participated in Global Finals. The following teams also competed at Global Finals:

  • Team Imagine Moore from Moore Elementary School;
  • Team Rockstars from Rennell Elementary School;
  • Team Fire Breathing Hamsters from Swenke Elementary School;
  • Team Ideas R Us from Warner;
  • Team The Athenas from Sprague Middle School; and
  • Team Mystic Minds from Bridgeland High School.

Team Stellar Squad from Warner Elementary School placed third in the Scientific – Blast from the Past challenge at the Destination Imagination Global Finals, held May 22-25 in Kansas City, Missouri.

“I am so proud of all the work our Destination Imagination students have done this year with the support of their parents, school sponsors and the district,” said Michele Krimsky, CFISD Destination Imagination coach. “This was the biggest the Destination Imagination program has been since before the COVID-19 pandemic and the students’ performances were outstanding. It is an honor to facilitate these amazing students.”

This year’s competition featured hundreds of teams from across the world, including teams from China, Turkey, Mexico, Guatemala, Canada, Qatar and Poland.

Destination Imagination promotes team-building for students in kindergarten through 12th grade who form teams to solve a challenge that incorporates imagination, creativity, collaboration and fun. Teams create a skit with props and scenery that involve one of the following categories: Fine Arts, STEM, Project Outreach and Improvisation.
