CFISD Student of the Week: Sara Tran

Cypress Ridge senior Sara Tran is a well-rounded student who’s honors and accolades include distinguished honor roll.

Nov. 29, 2021— Cypress Ridge High School senior Sara Tran is a well-rounded student who’s honors and accolades include distinguished honor roll, most improved swimmer and officer for student council, National Honor Society and Unity Club.

School: Cypress Ridge High School

Age: 18

Grade: 12

Accomplishments: Tran excels both inside and outside the classroom. She was named to the distinguished honor roll and is a National Honor Society officer. In addition, Tran is part of the swim team and orchestra, and is co-founder of the Unity Club.

Favorite class: “Math, because it teaches me problem-solving skills that can be applied to other subject areas like physics.”

Favorite things to do after class: “Volunteer at community service events, sleep, eat, hang out with friends, watch movies and work out.”

­Favorite Song: “It changes every other week, but currently Dazed and Confused by RUEL.”

Favorite Website/App: “YouTube, because I can spend hours scrolling and watching anything from funny videos to murder shows.”

Favorite TV Show: “Brooklyn Nine-Nine because it’s a hilarious show with characters that contrast one another.”

Favorite movie:Finding Nemo. It was the animated movie I watched, it’s amazing and I love the scene ‘sea amnemonemome.’”

Ambition: “In the future, I want to become an orthopedic physician assistant because it combines two things I am interested in which are health and helping others.”

What topics/things are you passionate about?: “I am passionate about health, swimming, community service and hiking.”

­What inspires you?: “My parents, Olympians, people who help others (charity) and people who persevere.”

What three things can’t you live without?: “God, family and technology.”
