Cypress Creek High School senior Corey Hadnot was named the District 17-6A boys’ basketball Most Valuable Player for a second consecutive season.

March 8, 2023—District 17-6A boys’ basketball coaches recently released the 2022-2023 All-District 17-6A Boys’ Basketball Team, following the conclusion of each team’s season in the UIL playoffs.

Cypress Creek High School senior Corey Hadnot was voted the league’s Most Valuable Player for a second consecutive year after leading the Cougars to the District 17-6A championship. The league title was the second outright for the program since 2021 and the Cougars’ third consecutive after earning a share last season.

Cy-Fair High School senior Marlin Meggs earned first-team honors on the All-District 17-6A boys’ basketball team.

Stratford High School’s Keanu Dawes was named the Offensive Player of the Year and Triston Williams the Defensive Player of the Year. Spring Woods High School’s Christian Gibson was voted Newcomer of the Year. Memorial High School’s David Lay was named Coach of the Year.

The following CFISD student-athletes were named to the first team, second team and honorable mention all-district teams:

Jersey Village High School senior Gavin Davis earned first-team honors on the All-District 17-6A boys’ basketball team.

Cypress Ridge High School senior Emiliano Soldevilla was among four Rams to earn honors on the All-District 17-6A boys’ basketball team.
