Future Educators claim awards at 2023 Teach Tomorrow Summit

Cy Creek High School students were among numerous CFISD representatives to attend and earn awards at the TAFE summit.

March 21, 2023—Students from Bridgeland, Cy-Fair, Cypress Creek and Jersey Village high schools earned awards from the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) 39th Annual Teach Tomorrow Summit on March 2-4 in Round Rock.

Bridgeland High School students Allison Barstow, Madison Hebert, Ellie Horton, Maci Meers, Avery Owens, Kinley Thomas, Ashlyn Young and Lauren Womack all placed at the virtual Texas Association of Future Educators 39th Annual Teach Tomorrow Summit. Owens, Barstow, Womack are national qualifiers in Children’s Literature Pre-K, and Hebert is a national qualifier in Project Visualize: Service.

Thirteen Bridgeland students, led by sponsor Stacy Morgan, placed in six events, including juniors Avery Owens, Allison Barstow and Lauren Womack and freshmen Ella Simmons and Victoria Mitchell being national qualifiers in Children’s Literature Pre-K, and seniors Alyssa Harless and Madison Hebert being national qualifiers in Project Visualize: Service:

  • Alyssa Harless – Chapter Yearbook (gold);
  • Madison Hebert – Project Visualize: Appreciation (silver) and Chapter Yearbook (gold);
  • Ellie Horton – Project Visualize: Recreation (gold);
  • Maci Meers – Chapter Yearbook (gold);
  • Sophie Price – Professional Development (gold – top 5);
  • Madelyn Smith – Professional Development (gold – top 5);
  • Kinley Thomas – Project Visualize: Recreation (gold); and
  • Ashlyn Young – Project Visualize: Appreciation (silver) and Chapter Yearbook (gold).

Four Cypress Creek students, led by sponsor Christina Bramwell, placed in four events:

  • Alexandra Carter – Differentiated Lesson (top 5) and Impromptu Lesson Planning (top 5);
  • Maren Davis – Project Visualize: Fundraising (gold);
  • Emma Le – Interactive Bulletin Board: Elementary (gold); and
  • Breanna Meier – Project Visualize: Fundraising (gold).

  • Carolina Armstrong – Interactive Bulletin Board: Elementary (silver);
  • Taylor Andrus – Project Visualize: Recreation (silver);
  • Cadence Banda – Interactive Bulletin Board: Elementary (bronze);
  • Jonah Cote – Chapter Yearbook (gold);
  • Zoe Doyle – Chapter Yearbook (gold);
  • Kristina Delgado Mendoza – Project Visualize: Recreation (silver);
  • Isabella Hernandez – Portfolio (gold);
  • Jazmin Jones – Chapter Yearbook (gold);
  • Corin Tieck Interactive Bulletin Board: Elementary (silver);
  • Morgan Wilcox – Interactive Bulletin Board: Elementary (silver); and
  • Marissa Zapata – Interactive Bulletin Board: Middle/High (gold).

Seven Jersey Village students, led by sponsor Liz Starr, placed in three events, including seniors Amanda Razo and A’zoria McInnis being national qualifiers in Interactive Bulletin Board: Middle/High, juniors Vanessa Munoz and Skyler Delaney being national qualifiers in Teacher Created Materials and freshman Edyth Lopez being a national qualifier in Educator’s Rising Moment:

  • Ariel Blalock – Teacher Created Materials (silver); and
  • Toni Sanchez – Teacher Created Materials (silver).

National qualifiers are eligible to compete at the Educators Rising National Conference, to be held June 29-July 2 in Orlando.
