CFISD Student of the Week: Sydney Parlevliet

Sept. 27, 2021—Salyards Middle School eighth grade student Sydney Parlevliet is praised by her teachers for being an accomplished student both in and outside the classroom.

School: Salyards Middle School

Age: 13

Grade: 8

Accomplishments: Parlevliet is a decorated actress, having been named Salyards’ Best Actress and performing in multiple shows. She also holds a school record in the 100-meter hurdles.

Favorite class: “Theater is my favorite class because I love the class environment, I love to act, and I’m surrounded by great teachers and classmates.”

Favorite things to do after class: “I love to hang out with my family.”

Favorite website/app: iMessage, because I love to text my friends and family.”

Favorite TV show: The Office, because it’s really funny!”

Favorite movie: Interstellar, because it is a thriller with a great storyline.”

Ambition: “I would like to attend The University of Houston one day and become an actress because I’m so passionate about performing and acting. I would also like to be an astronomer because I love to discover new things and things in space really are interesting to me.”

What topics/things are you passionate about?: “Acting and sports.”

What inspires you?: “My family inspires me because they work really hard which inspires me to do my very best.”

What three things can’t you live without?: “Family, friends, theater and sports.”

What are you most looking forward to this semester?: “Cross country meets and our UIL One-Act Play, The Secret Lives of Toads. I was chosen as one of the leads, Barrie.”
