Cypress Ranch High School graduate Molly Yoo was among three CFISD student-athletes who earned all-state honors by the Texas Sports Writers Association and Texas Girls Coaches Association. Yoo was honored by both.

Aug. 5, 2022—Led by Cypress Ranch High School graduate Molly Yoo, three CFISD softball standouts earned honors on the 2022 Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA) and Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) Class 6A all-state teams.

Yoo, who helped lead Cypress Ranch to the Class 6A Region II semifinals, was named to both teams. The standout pitcher earned honorable mention accolades on the TSWA team and was among the 50 student-athletes named to the TGCA all-state team.

Cypress Woods High School senior catcher Halee Vance was named to the TGCA all-state team.

Cy-Fair High School senior outfielder Alana Gray earned honorable mention on the TSWA team.

The TSWA all-state team is voted on by the association, which is comprised of sports writers and editors from daily and weekly newspapers across Texas as well as sports internet services. It features three starting pitchers, one relief pitcher, one player at the remaining eight positions and a designated hitter. First, second and third teams are selected in addition to those who earned honorable mention.

The TGCA all-state team is put together by a committee through nominations from coaches in good standing. Up to 50 athletes per classification may be selected.
