District 16-6A boys’ basketball players earn 2022-2023 league honors

March 8, 2023—District 16-6A boys’ basketball coaches released the 2022-2023 All-District 16-6A Boys’ Basketball Team, following the conclusion of each team’s season in the UIL playoffs.

Cypress Falls and Cypress Springs high schools each earned two district superlatives. Cypress Falls senior Joseph Tugler was voted the district’s Most Valuable Player and Head Coach Richard Flores was named the Coach of the Year after leading the Golden Eagles to the league championship. Cypress Springs High School junior Stoney Hadnot was voted Offensive Player of the Year after being named the top newcomer last season, while senior Jaheim Wiley was voted Defensive Player of the Year.

Cypress Ranch High School freshman Josh Goodwin was named the Newcomer of the Year.
