District 16-6A girls’ basketball players earn 2022-2023 league honors

March 20, 2023—District 16-6A girls’ basketball coaches recently released the 2022-2023 All-District 16-6A Girls’ Basketball Team, following the conclusion of each team’s season in the UIL playoffs.

Cypress Springs High School sophomore Ayla McDowell was named the district’s Most Valuable Player for a second consecutive season.

Langham Creek High School junior Heather Baymon and Cypress Lakes High School junior Aniah Alexis shared Offensive Player of the Year honors. Cypress Ranch High School senior Chelsy Singleton was voted Defensive Player of the Year after being named Offensive Player of the Year last season.

Cypress Lakes freshman Makennah Alexis and Langham Creek freshman Brooke Prevost shared Newcomer of the Year honors.

Cypress Springs Head Coach Taneisha Rogers was voted Coach of the Year after leading the Panthers to the District 16-6A championship.
