• Dear Yellowjacket Families,

As we step into the festive month of December, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we've had so far this school year and share some exciting updates and upcoming events.

Firstly, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our students, parents, and staff for their dedication and hard work. It has been a joy to witness the growth and achievements of our students, both academically and personally.

As we approach the winter break, I encourage everyone to take some time to relax and recharge. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends, reflect on the past year, and set goals for the coming year.

Here are a few highlights and announcements for the month of December:

Merry Days of December: We have fun spirit days for the entire month of December.  Feel free to dress up and enjoy the fun!  Click the Link for all the info!

Week of December 4th and 11th:
    Interim Assessments:
3rd-5th Grade will be taking Reading, Math, and Science Interim Assessments to check what they have learned so far this year.  Please stress the importance of these tests with your students as we will use the data gathered to help us target how we can help your students as we get closer to the STAAR test in April!

    Tuesday, December 12th
Yeager Spirirt Night at Giuseppe's Italian Restaurant:
Eat in or Dine out!  Enjoy dinner at Giuseppe's on Louetta Road with your family.  You don't need a flyer for the night!  Just mention that you are there for the Yeager Spirit Night, and 20% of all sales will be donated right back to our school!!!

    Tuesday, December 19th
Winter Wonderland Family Event: We are having a Family Fun Night with awesome academic activities, games, movies, and performances!  We'll have read alouds, crafts, math/science puzzles and games, and "work out" at the Grinch House!  Our 4th and 5th Grade Choir will be performing at 6:15.  Come join the fun and celebrate with your teachers and Yellowjacket Families and Friends!

    Thursday, Decemeber 21st
    Car Rider Express!!
Yeager has typically experienced many early student pickups the day before our winter holiday.  For the safety of our students and for the convenience of our families, we will be offering a Car Rider Express Pass.  If you choose to pick up your child early on Thursday, December 21st, we ask that you pick up at 10:00 a.m. through our car rider express line.  We will run a car rider line for pre-registered students.  You will not need to come in to sign out your child.  To register, we must receive the information below no later than December 15th.  If you do not pre-register your students prior to December 15th, you will still be able to pick up your student early on that day--please note--you may have to wait for a longer period of time as we work to dismiss families who have pre-registered.

Please use the following link to download, print, and fill out for pre-registration.  We also sent home a hard copy of this pre-registration on Monday, December 4th.

    Classroom Winter Parties
We are so excited to announce our holiday parties this year! This time honored Yeager Tradition is back for the first time since 2019 and we can't wait! The teachers have fun games or crafts planned for the students and everyone will enjoy a holiday treat before we take off for winter break!

BUT to make this happen we need the help and generosity of our Yellowjacket community! Below you will find a sign-up genius link for each grade level requesting donations and volunteers. Check them out and help support our teachers by signing up!

Also, the only way to attend these awesome holiday parties is to be a classroom volunteer, so don't delay and click those links!
