Spillane MS orchestra named Houston Cup finalist
Sept. 22, 2023—The Spillane Middle School orchestra was named a finalist for the 2023 Houston Cup for the second consecutive year. The award recognizes excellent orchestra teaching and directing at the middle school level in greater Houston.

25 CFISD students named 2024 National Merit semifinalists
Sept. 14, 2023—A total of 25 CFISD seniors representing seven high schools were confirmed as semifinalists in the 69th annual National Merit Scholarship Program, officials announced on Sept. 13, allowing academically talented students to continue in the competition for approximately 7,140 National Merit scholarships worth nearly $28 million.

Sept. 7, 2023—From touchdowns to timeouts, Butch Milks has said it all as the longtime stadium announcer for the Cy-Fair High School Bobcats football. It doesn’t matter if a spectator attended a game last week, last year or even last decade, it’s been all Milks for the past 43 years.

CFISD high schools recognized in U.S. News & World Report rankings
Sept. 6, 2023—Bridgeland, Cypress Woods and Cypress Ranch high schools ranked among the top 1,400 U.S. high schools in the country, while Cy-Fair, Langham Creek and Cypress Creek high schools gave Cypress-Fairbanks ISD six schools among the top 3,400 nationally, according to U.S. News & World Report’s annual list of America’s Best High Schools.
