CFISD Student of the Week: Makenna Marshall
Jan. 8, 2018—Kahla Middle School eighth-grader Makenna Marshall is a well-rounded student who excels in her academics, athletics and extracurricular activities. She earned all-region orchestra honors and was Athlete of the Week in volleyball.

Accomplishments: Marshall earns all A’s in the classroom and has been honored by the Duke University Talent Identification Program. This summer, she attended a leadership summit at Harvard University. A well-rounded student, Marshall earned all-region orchestra honors. In addition, Marshall was Athlete of the Week in volleyball and placed third all around in the Middle School District Track Championships.

Favorite things to do after class: “Makenna loves music and to play her clarinet after class.”

Favorite movie: Princess and the Frog. “I love the animation and the princess.”
Ambition: “I would like to attend an Ivy League college. One of my goals is to get accepted to Harvard University and become a civil rights attorney.”
What topics/things are you passionate about?: “I am passionate about politics and playing my clarinet.”
What inspires you?: “I love to listen to good orchestra music. It calms me and I can listen to great music while doing my homework.”
What three things can’t you live without?: “Continuous learning, sports and music.”
What are you most looking forward to this semester?: “I am looking forward to my band solo ensemble and track and field season.”
