Jersey Village High School senior Ja’Nya Thomas was voted the District 17-6A girls’ basketball co-Most Valuable Player.

March 20, 2023—District 17-6A girls’ basketball coaches recently released the 2022-2023 All-District 17-6A Girls’ Basketball Team, following the conclusion of each team’s season in the UIL playoffs.

Jersey Village High School senior Ja’Nya Thomas and Cypress Ridge High School senior Olivia Shook both earned district superlatives for a second consecutive season. Thomas shared Most Valuable Player honors with Memorial High School’s Nicki Polocheck after being voted Defensive Player of the Year last year. Shook repeated in being named the district’s Offensive Player of the Year.

Cypress Ridge High School senior Scejeonna Anderson was voted Defensive Player of the Year. Cypress Creek High School freshman Aubrey Hampton was named Newcomer of the Year.

Cypress Ridge High School senior Olivia Shook was named the District 17-6A girls’ basketball Offensive Player of the Year.

Memorial High School’s Jyusef Larry was named Coach of the Year.

The following CFISD student-athletes were named to the first team, second team and honorable mention all-district teams:
