April 12, 2024—CFISD has been honored with the 2024 Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) national designation from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for the seventh consecutive year.

The BCME celebrates school districts across the United States for their support of music education for all students as part of a well-rounded education. The 2024 designation honors 975 school districts across the nation that that demonstrate high commitment and access to music education.

“Receiving this designation reaffirms CFISD’s status as a leader in music education,” said Joe Glass, coordinator of secondary music. “With this recognition, our district continues to set the benchmark for excellence in music education by inspiring other districts nationwide to prioritize and invest in music programs that empower students to reach their full potential. This prestigious honor recognizes the commitment of our talented students and amazing teachers.”

To be eligible for the BCME designation, CFISD completed a survey answering a series of questions about funding, graduation requirements, music education electives, facilities, standards for assessing music education and participation rates. The surveys were then reviewed by the research and project team at the NAMM Foundation.
